I'm sure most of you know what I'm talking about.
Sometimes when we are reading a magazine or investigating in style.com you came across a dress or an outfit that is really marvellous. The ones that make you blink twice and say "WOW".
They are so beautiful that you can't believe you hadn't seen it before. So amazing that it makes you wish you could buy it. Just to have it, because you wouldn't know where or how to wear it.
For a walk? Too dressed up. For a day at the beach? Too uncomfortable. To a wedding? Too outstanding. To a party? Too... too much.
Estoy segura de que muchos sabéis a lo que me refiero.
A veces, cuando estás leyendo una revista o investigando entre los lugares recónditos de style.com te encuentras con un vestido o un conjunto que realmente merece llamarse arte. O moda, de la que siempre estará "in". El vestido que te hace parpadear dos veces y decir "wow".
Es tan bonito que no puedes creer que no lo hubieras visto antes. Tan impresionante que te hace desear comprarlo, simplemente para tenerlo, porque no sabrías para qué ponértelo.
¿Para dar una vuelta? Demasiado arreglado. ¿Para un día en la playa? Demasiado incómodo. ¿Para una boda? Demasiado llamativo. ¿Para una fiesta? Demasiado... demasiado.

everyone's thought that! but, truth is, some dresses are as you see them on the runway, liek the balenciaga one, but sometimes, they're shorter or longer or have more details than they do when you see them on the shops, just for the sake of the visualty of the fashion show/photoshoot
ReplyDeleteomg all of those dresses are amazing and each dress hold an amzing print! and i hate looking through mags and seeing a great dress that i cant even afford, but cant think of a place where i could even wear it- besides maybe a halloween party/?
ReplyDeleteSometimes they can do this amazing dresses just to make us say wow, because maybe you cannot buy the dress, but you buy the perfume, blush... I guess if I had the money, I will buy them! I love McQueen ones.

ReplyDeleteentiendo lo que decis, claro que si...y auqnue parezca medio abstracto lo que voy a decir, el 50% de lo que uno usa es COMO lo usa. si te pones un vestido super llamativo y te paras con los hombros caidos y con la mirada baja, dudo que alguien lo note. y si te pones un vestido sencillo pero que te hace sentir incomoda, TODOS lo van a notar. creo que algunos de estos modelos podrian pasar como apropiados en alguna fiesta, siempre y cuando la usuaria no se sienta ridicula en ellos...no se si me explico :S.

ReplyDeletehaha! i know exactly what you're talking about. it's not only a matter of dress. it can also be a "simple" pair of pants and a "simple" top like in balenciaga's latest collection. STILL it appears so far from me.. even if i had the money i doubt if i'd got my hands on an alex. mcqueen dress for ex. well ok! maybe i would and then offered it for a good cause :P
