Do It Yourself: Miu Miu S/S 2010 Brooches

Miu Miu S/S 2010 is one of the best collections I've ever seen. The chandelier tops, the beautiful sleeves, the wonderful accesories... and the prints! Miuccia presented a very unexpected series of prints that covered all the fabrics and the brooches embellished the handbags, the shirts, the skirts, and shoes. When I saw the cat brooch, I thought: "Hey, this is very easy to do!"

La colección de Miu Miu S/S 2010 es una de las mejores que he visto jamás. Los tops con cristales tipo lámpara de araña, las mangas abullonadas, los accesorios... y los estampados! Miuccia presentó una inesperada serie de ilustraciones que adornaban los bolsos, las faldas, las camisas, y los zapatos. You need:

Tijeras, papel, un rotulador, fieltro (del color que quieras), imperdibles y pegamento.

How to do it:
I drew the different figures (a swallow, a cat, a dog and a woman). The process is the same on every of the drawings. /// He dibujado las diferentes figuras (una golondrina, un gato, un perro y una mujer). El proceso es el mismo con cada dibujo.

Step 1:

Print the pattern. Cut it. /// Imprime la plantilla y recórtala.

Step 2:


Cut a piece of felt and place the print on it. Then use it as a pattern and draw it on the felt. /// Corta un trozo de fieltro y coloca encima el dibujo recortado, úsalo como molde y dibuja la silueta sobre el fieltro.

Step 3:

Cut the silhouette, and draw the details with the marker. /// Recorta la silueta y añade los detalles con el rotulador.

How to attach the safety pin:
If you don't want the safety pin to be visible, you'll have to cut the pattern in two steps. See the example of the cat: /// Si no quieres que el imperdible se vea, tienes que cortar la silueta en dos partes. Vee el ejemplo del gato:

The safety pin is placed under the head (which has been cut aside and glued to the body).
