Romeo + Juliet

I don't know what to think about this film:

- The casting is perfect. Romeo has always been like Leonardo and Juliet has always been Claire Danes. The perfect couple.
- Baz's eccentricity goes too far in this film. The parts where Romeo and Juliet are together are perfect, but when Romeo is with his friends or Juliet talks with her family, everything goes crazy. Is he saying that everything is ok as long as they stay together? It could be.
- The photography is amazing.
- The dialogues are beautiful, respecting Shakespeare's original lines, but translated to modern age. It makes me want to memorize every line.
- The costume design is quite good.
- The soundtrack is average.

Conclusion: there's no conclusion. I don't think they'll ever make a better interpretation of Romeo & Juliet, the characters will never be so well performed.

No sé qué pensar de esta película:

- El casting es perfecto. Romeo siempre ha sido Leonardo di Caprio y Julieta siempre ha sido Claire Danes. La pareja perfecta.
- La excentricidad de Baz es excesiva en esta película. Las partes en las que Romeo y Julieta están juntos son perfectas, pero cuando Romeo está con sus amigos o Julieta con su familia, todo es como una locura. ¿Quiere decir que todo está bien mientras Romeo y Julieta estén juntos? Podría ser.
- La fotografía es una maravilla.
- Los diálogos son una maravilla también. Respeta el texto de Shakespeare pero lo translada a la época moderna, sin que resulte absurdo. Dan ganas de memorizar cada frase.
- El vestuario es bastante bueno, por no decir muy bueno.
- La banda sonora es muy regular.

Conclusión: no hay conclusión. No creo que en un futuro próximo se llegue a hacer una película sobre Romeo y Julieta mejor que ésta. Al menos en cuanto respecta al casting.
