Kristen Stewart on fame: an appreciation post

This post is dedicated to Kristen Stewart. Because I like her more every day. Her interviews show how down to earth she is, sincere and honest. Her statements are truly revealing. .

The day I saw that Kristen wore sneakers under her dress and put on the high heels just for posing, I thought it was so great, and I'm already a fan. It's true that she always seems uncomfortable in front on the cameras, but isn't it normal? Reading this post by Garance Doré in which she talked about how good Marion Cotillard is at being a star (she's accompanied by an entourage of 20 people, she loves the flashes...), I realized that Kristen is just someone who wants to walk through the red carpet as fast as possible and go back home with her cat, unlike Marion.

“I wish I didn’t have to show up in these dresses — we look like demi-gods when we show up. I want to be able to run around and not have my feet feeling like they’re going to fall off.”

“People say that I’m miserable all the time. It’s not that I’m miserable, it’s just that somebody’s yelling at me…I literally, sometimes, have to keep myself from crying…It’s a physical reaction to the energy that’s thrown at you.”

In an interview Kristen said that after shooting the first part of Twilight the cast had to attend a "media course" to manage the media pressure they were going to get. Even though she took the course, she was angry about it, she said she wasn't going to hide her insecurities and become the perfect celebrity. And that's it. She's honest, isn't it a much better image that the perfection that most celebrities portray? Yes, because it's real.

Being a famous actress is a job that requires a lot of sacrifices. Not being able to get out of home without being hounded by paparazzis, stalkers, and crazy fans. They even booed her at Cannes (she was there promoting On the road, I can't wait to see it), and what was her reaction? Boo back at them. Maybe it's not what her publicist may have preferred, but the truth is that you can understand her situation. There's a limit on things you can ignore.

"Once somebody finds out, you have to get the hell out of wherever you are. People freak out. And the photographers, they're vicious. They're mean. They're like thugs. I don't event want to drive around by myself anymore. It's [expletive] dangerous."

"It bothers me that I can't be outside very often. And also to not ever be 'some girl' again."

And it's also great that she doesn't use her private life to get attention. She is in a relationship with Robert Pattinson, but they are not Brangelina. It's good that they are together in the crazy fans situation.

"I would never cheapen my relationship by talking about them. People say, ‘Just say who you’re dating. Then people will stop being so ravenous about it.’ It’s like, No they won’t! They’ll ask for specifics.”

"Why would I want something that it's private to be entertainment for another people?"

And she isn't mean at interviews, and is nice to her fans, so what's the problem?

So, if you were famous, would you be like Marion Cotillard, or Kristen?

PS: The fact that I like Kristen Stewart doesn't mean that I like Twilight. I certainly don't.

-----------------

Crueles.
